The Eukanuba Marketing Team, part of The IAMS Company, a division of Proctor & Gamble (P&G), and leader in the animal nutrition market, needed a way to help their clients educate consumers about the value of Eukanuba Veterinary Diets.

The Situation
Veterinarians are bombarded with educational media from pharmaceutical, device and nutrition companies. The demands of the practice leave insufficient time for veterinarians and other animal health professionals to both understand the science and value of nutrition. Previous attempts had been made via feeding charts and product selectors.

The PTi International Suggested Course of Action
PTi International developed an illustrated guide that not only provided the professional with more in depth medical and nutritional information but also could be used to provide the consumer with a way to understand the value of purchasing a premium diet.

The illustrated guide provides the following benefits:
  • It simplifies the communication of diet selection using consumer-oriented medical illustration;
  • The veterinarian now has the ability to spend time with an educated customer;
  • The communication is deployed online as well as within printed binders providing superior access;
  • The media was made so it can be used in other marketing activities.
The IAMS Illustrated Guide was nominated in two categories at P&G annual marketing awards.
