The chart on the left shows the impact of pay per click (green bar) and then of optimization (orange bars). The site went online in January 2003. During the first year, given that no web marketing dollars were spent, the website attracted very little visitors, with about 60 to 110 visits each month (see blue bars in chart).
In May 2004, the client decided to opt for pay per click advertising. The traffic went up dramatically thanks to the pay per click system in place (see green bar in chart below). However, the pay per click solution appeared quite expensive and limiting as the client budget allowed for a cap of about 400 clicks per month.
In August, the client tried our guaranteed search engine optimization. As soon as the website was indexed by Google, the results where noticeable. The average daily visit increased by more than 50% that month compared to when we started, and kept increasing as the site ranking improved.
